phew, been away awhile...and I return today with one of my favorite subjects; cool ass cars! this one is a joint venture between Hyundai and GM...it's mostly made of recycled pop bottles. Shame no car company out there has the balls to try and sell something like this, or designed like this for that matter, that window rocks!

Ok, I'll admit it, I'm one of those geeks that watches foreign language tv, just to see images from other lands, perhaps my eyes are hungry for travel, a state I hope to rectify soon...but for now, I examine door frames, and sign posts this way....this is a link to early color photography from Russia.

Everything I can find says that although this looks like a concept car, it's actually production, and due to hit the streets this year...and it's electric! the styling is ...well, subjective...I like it, I like that it looks viable in today's market, I wouldn't drive it tho, well I'd drive it...but I wouldn't buy it...but...it's cool...
link/01.08.07/B23
A very beautiful little film, part paper mache, part computer graphics...all great.

What better place to play twister than in bed? there is an element of danger to it, should yr knotted bodies roll off the bed...but well, a little risk just adds to it and you know it...

link/10.19.06/TrendHunter

I know of at least one bedlamite that is really fond of paper craft, but I'm pretty sure many others will say the same thing I did when I found this, WOW!

link/09.29.06/BeTuMan

OK, this is just cool, so far I have no details beyond this video, but i'm looking, the original poster says it's scary, but I think it's just cool, very cool..I want one!

OK, next time I'm in Brussles just try to keep me outta here, for kids, HA! they gotta at least let me in to look around...

Already a big fan of magazines I'm always interested in a new one, Good Magazine had already peeked my interest as a new art/politic/environment rag, but then when you discover that yr 20$ subscription rate can be 100% directed to one of 12 different chairties...well geesh, what's not to like.

link/09.18.06/JoshSpear

Bedlam's favorite artist Obi Kaufmann has updated his website, check it! that's an order Bedlamites...

I;ve featured PlasticHeart before I'm sure, but while checking out the newest shipment (not to be missed for fans of HazMa Pos and Kuggs) I discovered these DIY toys, some even come with crayons so you can decorate them yrself, how cool is that?

link/08.24.06/B23

The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens got an Amorphophallus Titanum to bloom after ten years of cultivating, most know it as the corpse plant. Cool Hunting has a really great little video complete with a stop motion of the blooms amazing growth, six inches a day!

link/08.19.06/CoolHunting

It's always agonizing to find things like this, and then find that they aren't real (yet?) I love the concept so felt it worth sharing, it's a beautiful design, and manybe with enough interest it might someday leave the pixel void...

Artist Spotlight. Brian McGuffey, one of two owners of SquareRoom, an art, interiors, jewelry, and necessities store here in Seattle. Brian and his partner Leif both create wonderful original art for the store as well as highlight other artists, if yr in the Seattle area, don't miss this store, or Brian's paintings ("sand in my toes" is mine, don't you dare buy it, unless you really want it, then it's ok...)

link/08.10.06/B23

Hey this is pretty cool. A website you can text yr camera phone images to. it was super easy to set up and they offer three levels; free, basic, and premium, each one giving you more storage.

link/08.05.06/SarahLane

Kinda late in the summer for pool/lake toys, but hey it's cool enough, a motorized floaty, how great is that? and at only 130$ geesh, if I was still 10 mins from the lake I would sooooo buy this.

link/08.02.06/CoolHunting

Just a large collection of strange statues from all around the world, some profoundly interesting others downright disturbing, all worth at least a look.

link/08.01.06/BeTuMan

oh oh oh, I love this stuff! from what I can tell it's one design firm and their collection of wonderful products, and the prices are great...the wall art, and the Mr P. don't miss either of them.

Pretty sure I've posted stuff like this before, tho previously I believe it was more function/goal oriented, as homeless housing. Tho there are some ideas here that are very well suited to the homeless housing situation. Not very homeless friendly but cool enough to mention is the AtoZ living unit, don't miss it.

link/07.31.06/DesignBoom

Ok, I'm a complete trance addict so you might not enjoy this as much as I do, but I found this streaming video channel from Italy that rocks, excellent stream quality, killer artist choices, no yakkin, varies from single video's to recorded live shows, the first thing I saw on here was two hours of Armin. Trance heads gotta check this out!

link/07.28.06/B23

Some ppl have asked about the back wall of the new coffee bar, it's reclaimed billboard material. It's really great stuff, very heavy re-inforced vinyl. You can buy 4ft x 4ft pieces of yr very own and make all kinds of things, they send you project sheets and everything!

check out some really great stuff made from reclaimed billboard material

link/07.27.06/BTG

This is just cool, made cooler that the makers decide who get's one and who doesn't, not sure yet what the criteria is for being accepted, but you know I'm gonna try...I want many actually, I'd love to slip them into bushes and tell stories with them as ppl walk down a block, they hear another line from the story... heh? pretty good huh? anyway, go check em out...

A Dutch company will suspend you and up to 21 of yr friends from a crane, the catch is yr table and the chairs yr all sitting in will be 164 ft above ground. They even move the crane to a site of yr choosing

link/07.14.06/B23

Lot of talk on the news about "Smart comes to America" which IS a good thing and all, but if you do a search for places to just go look at the oh so cute convertible, or the too too sexy roadster...yr outta luck, and a call to a local Mercedes Dealer got a "Really? I hadn't heard that..." hmph

Probably not a big deal to anyone outside the northwest, but it's a big deal to me. Two of our Orcas' Pods came back with calves. Bringing our population to a still pitiful 89, but it's fantastic anyway.

link/06.24.06/B23

Ok, last architecture page I swear, but I swear all the time so... This one is so worth it, click houses and plans and find the OrchidHouse...

wow! I sat here transfixed for almost and hour before I realized it. So simple, so fun.

link/06.20.06/HaHa.Nu

I'm pretty sure I posted a project similar to this but by a different artist. I still really like the idea of doing this somewhere, here it is as municipal art in subway stations.

link/06.19.06/HaHa.Nu

keeping in the architectural vein, I spotted a houseboat by this guy and freaked, tho that boat isn't presnt on his page his page is quite interesting, picture Wright's work on a future blue Mars.

link/06.19.06/B23

What better way to get back to updating than to highlight one of the all time greatest architects. I've long dreamed of building an unbuilt Wright design (there are 1000's btw) here's a quick story with pictures of a truly beautiful example of just that.

link/06.13.06/DesignBoom

Busy with the new CoffeeBar, but here's something interesting I couldn't let slip by. Picture a whole wall made this way, or a room divider, or even as window covering.

What's better than a pair of Beautiful slippers, well, nothing.

link/04.18.06/JoshSpear

Oh Oh Obvio! tribrid micro car, runs on electric, ethonol and gasoline, and you can choose how to mix the gas and ethonol yrself (to suit yr power needs?)Not a fan of the color, but it's so tiny maybe it's a safety thing, cuz you know a hummer wouldn't even know it squished it.

Don't miss the flip flop peddels.

Artist Spotlight. Jason Shogreen (or Sho Green) has a wide variety of works, textile, paint, illustration, all wonderful.

link/03.29.06/B23

Might be disturbing to some. The strange combination of such an innocent "grandma" medium and the subject matter, well let's just say I'm a big fan of irony, no matter how obvious.

link/03.29.06/B23

Stunt Photography. Never heard of it? I bet in no time there will be alot more of it, but this guy will and is the master. WOW.

Oh great, just what I needed, another reason to go to Berlin. This is another in the wave of popular theme room boutique hotels. (A life long dream of mine) anyway, this one has a definite home made kinda feel. Room 23 is not to be missed, check out where you sleep...

link/03.19.06/CoolHunter

Basically just pictures of Tokyo, but you know if I'm posting about them there's something more, the ones in "twilight zone" have a quality about them that makes them seem made up, idealized. The "night scene" shots are just fascinatingly detailed.

link/03.18.06/AngusFraser

I was gonna put this up in the Video Pick section above, but I was just too amazed to let it slip by, you've got to check this out, I'm looking now for a higher rez version, but wow...it's amazing what we can do with image these days, really, think about it...

found a better one and some may recognize those moves from an earlier post

I'm not even completly sure what to make of this site at this point. We'll discover it together, lemme know what you make of it...

link/03.11.06/B23

I've re-written this description twice now, originally I was gonna call it a guy site, too sexist, then I was gonna say it was a geek cooking site, too cliche... it's a recipe site, you'll see what kind when you get there, make up yr own mind.

I think I have a new hobby, collecting Polish movie posters. Check these out, some of them have nothing or simingly nothing to do with the films there hawking, some of them are just cooler than crap, others might even do a better job of advertising the films than the originals.

link/03.07.06/RetroCrush

While wondering the site after posting the below, I stumbled across this, a terrabyte the size of a sugar cube by 2009...just consider that for a moment.

A Wonkavator! Not really, but this is one of those, duh, why didn't they do that the whole time kinda things.

ok, 3 grand is alot, I'll say that right now, but I think I could justify it. Wish I could find out what each print costs, they never tell ya that, I don't even wanna think about what the cartiridge cost would be.

right after typing that I found out that a 4x6 print would be about $1.33

link/03.06.06/OhGizmo

An update to the look of the site is all the reason I need to post a link to one of my favorite websites.

link/03.06.06/B23

Frack me! I would sooo drive this. I;m such a geek when it comes to concept cars, I'm sorry I apologize..

Does anyone else see a cartoon inspiration, a puppy?

This is just cool, I can't find a favorite, what a fun thing to try at home.

You know with humans forever reproducing and consuming more and more forested areas, treehouses would be such a cool way to have both, I want one of the ones pictured to the left, times three, a living module, sleeping module, and a wet module for bathroom and kitchen, all contacted via little bridges.

link/02.22.06/JoshSpear
Artist Spotlight. We never want to miss an update at ObiKaufmann.com particularly such a prolific update.

link/02.21.06/B23
WHY?! Don't get me wrong, I love my city, Seattle is my home. But Why! are our two world class pieces of recent architecture so, well so, not good. link/02.19.06/CoolHunting

Artist Spotlight. Loretta Lux, I haven't done one of these for a bit, Loretta Lux has something goingon in her photography, these are photos of kids, but there is something more..Her skill with image compliation is very very good.

A webpage of something I've actually done, although I didn't have a camera at the time, but when I was younger I loved sneeking into old empty buildings. This page does that very thing, the link I'm posting is to a collection of hospitals.

link/02.12.06/B23

Who knew that manhole covers could be this damn interesting, I know are covers here in the US arn't this cool, some are interesting, but hey some of these are works of art.

What's this, a news organization that isn't owned by a giant publishing company or war contractor? hmm, very interesting idea...

link/01.26.06/B23

I just love this place, love it love love it, tiny piece of property, and what? 8-10,000$? plus furniture...damn, I just love this place.

The article

link/01.24.06/Treehugger

I don't even remember how I came across this, but... it's interesting in a "gems of the internet" kinda way... a whole website devoted to hands, male hands...what else could I possibly say about it.

link/01.23.06/B23

Artist Spotlight. Tom Judd, the drawing is good, but it's the commitment that I admire most, one page everyday for a year. Worth a look.

link/01.23.06/B23

WE ARE GOING TO THE FREAKIN SUPERRBOWL!!!! WOOT WOOT... GO SEAHAWKS!!

link/01.22.06/B23

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT. Van Sowerwine, he's the director and writer of some really amazing little animations, one of which is featured above in the MiniLinks. The website has some really great, some even more disturbing pieces. Not to be missed.

link/01.08.06/B23

This is likely way more interesting than it should be. It's creative and pretty well done tho.

link/01.07.06/B24

Ok, this is the second such product I've seen, the first was fabric infused with insect repellant, this product is infused with vitamin c and other minerals... the possibilities are quite intriguing when you think of other things you could infuse fabric with, contraceptives, viagra, nicotine... psychedelic drugs. Essence is the line. note-the gallery of images is not to be missed if you like pretty male bodies

link/01.06.06/CoolHunting

This is a simple and brilliant idea to draw attention to homelessness in yr area, a bag of concrete and some water, and tada instant message. I know I'll be making some this spring how bout you?

My love of concept cars continues, this company specializes in concepts, they work with Mercedes and Porsche, the one pictured to the left expands and contracts based on need, they also have one that turns into a boat, and one that has a boat built into it.

link/01.05.06/B23

I really wish I had a place I could use this, I see it in a nighclub as ambient room furniture, but it would also be great in a high end day care.

link/01.04.06/MoCoLoco

Brace yrself for a science geek link, any fan of Star Trek should recognize this idea as well, not the clean up part but the liquid computer storage part, sounds to me like "gelpacks" the preferred method of info storage on the fictional starship Voyager...

Something a little different today, mini links, links that are to small for a whole link, but too interesting to just ignore...

I've posted before about interesting temporary dwellings, but this one has got to be an all time favorite, I want one! I want a whole camp of them, the ultimate in non-invasive camping structures (beyond of course what they do to the poor trees they hang from, but imagine snatching up a few hundred acres and pebbling it with these...Cool!

Well as best as I can tell this is a place for amature vidiographers to ply there craft. The few I have watched so far have been quite good. find Hauted Kitchen in the and tho I'm a Honda guy, this SupraRedline has some killer editing in it. Pretty cool so far, looks new I don't think there are 100 video here so far.

You might not know this, but I'm a huge fan of the idea of turning shipping containers into houses, I've seen many by Adam Kalkin that I like allot, this is a link to a NY Times article about him, and his push button folding house made from a single container.

Note-See Adam Kalkin's other works & and ya gotta go

For those Bedlamites out there that still enjoy the wonder of the postal system, you can now make yr very own stamps, it does cost a bit more than a regular stamp, but you get to control the image, and hey isn't control worth more?

link/11.30.05/B23

Dust off that broadband modem, a long time fan of transformers, this struck me as interesting, the animation skill is amazing and it's just fun. As a budding animator I really wish there was more about how it was done, the movement is too smooth to be done by hand, there has to be some engine involved. It's flash so if you right click you can zoom in and see a slightly bigger window.

link/11.30.05/B23

Karma Ghost is just one of many great little flash movies by Billy Blob, great inventive idea films that you should not miss.

link/11.30.05/B23

Considering the high level of crap that we are forced to endure in the name of advertising it's surprising anything get's rejected. Ironically some of these rejected ads are excellent thought provoking, dare I say beautiful spots.

These are very very cool, I think I want every one of them, the design and the implementation are both cool...I don't know what else to say about them...

link/11.24.05/NotCot

Here's a loverly little waste of time, quite interesting actually...how old are you in the orbits of the other planets... I've just turned 21 on Mars

link/11.19.05/BeTuMan

I'm sorry but I just have to say it..WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE STILL BURNING THE BLACK CRAP FROM THE GROUND FOR?!! I mean if humans can harness the energy from a beach, why should we be so damned dependant on oil, come on world government, get off the can! Geesh...

I've never really gone in for radio controlled toys, but I'm pretty sure this could hold my attention for ten maybe twenty minuets.

link/11.19.05/ThinkGeek

Ok, what the heck? it seems like a gag at first, but they are real, really. Do we really want kids thinking of poop as a toy?

link/11.18.05/OhGizmo

I like cars, and I don't care who knows it..sci fi looking cars are a particular favorite, so This new Audi really hits the mark, due out in 2007 as the R8, it's cool and you know it, even if yr not a car geek.

Etsy.com, billed when I found it as the ebay of handmade goods, but I really didn't see much in the way of auction activity, it is however a very nice source for handmade stuff, with some truely beautiful interface options, don't miss the shop by color option.

link/11.11.05/JoshSpear

This now 2 year old project really struck me as important, knowing a persons name creates and undeniable connection to that person, makes them real, makes them harder to ignor...this project extends that concept to those homeless you walk by everyday...

link/11.09.05/JoshSpear

Pardon the delay, bit of an internet disaster here... Today I draw yr focus to the coolest looking audio device EVER, tell me does it look like the head of a praying mantas to anyone else? it wirelessly streams anything you send to it from a pc...They have other great looking products as well

link/11.04.05/B23

Why? Becuase Obi said so, that's why...

link/10.30.05/B7

Cord jewlery, dress up those cords hanging down the wall behind yr computer, or stringing across the desk. Great idea, don't think I'd buy cord jewlery, make it maybe?

link/10.18.05/weMAKEART

Wallpaper, wallpaper for yr walls, wallpaper you would never hang anything over, back are the popular 70's wall murals, but these are some of the coolest wall murals yr likely to see for some time. And it's made using a machine I've wanted one since the first times I saw it.

link/10.16.05/JoshSpear

500 Shanghai homes, and the ppl who live in them. I would really like to see this show in a gallery, in very large format. But this is good too.

link/10.16.05/BoingBoing

Finally an MP3 player you can call pal, Pez Pal actually, a stay at home dad thought this up and got Pez to give him a license to build em, pretty dang cool I think.

link/10.14.05/BoingBoing

3 in a row,hitech...the new class of car, the "city car" not one relly meant to go coty to city, but door to door. A Design contest winner, first prize a working model of the designers submission...check out the image gallery. I'd drive one.

link/10.13.05/Gizmag

I don't care who knows it, i'm a complete sucker for long low lines...yeah yeah it's a scooter, who care's it rawks! There both hybrid/electrics, so you can see at the least the value there if you don't appreciate those lines.

link/10.13.05/Nanoblog

A robot you could operate from yr room, images beamed right into yr brain, yr every thought instantly transmitted to the robot anywhere in the a city. Ok, it's only a movie. One called Hinokio, sounds a bit like Pinocchio, no? So far all I've seen of it is an all Japanese website and the movie trailer, looks good though, great looking robot effect.

link/10.13.05/Nanoblog

Transparent solar panels. Just think about it for a couple seconds....freaking brilliant, can you imagine the power production from a skyscraper sized solar panel. wow.

link/10.12.05/OhGizmo

A long accordion wall made of paper, yeah yeah really cool room divider, but it could be so much more, with the right lighting, in the right place....like a party, moving it occasionally to keep ppl alert...

link/10.12.05/B23

Turn an old polaroid into a Lego Pinhole camera. Yes kiddies a real live lego pinhole camera....you know yr wondering where that old polaroid is...

link/10.10.05/BoingBoing

Dylan Thomas reading his own work!(and the work of many others) Salon.com has free downloads, 11 installments covering most all of Thomas' popular work, how great is that...aint the internet grand?

note-you might have to watch a teany little ad first.

link/10.08.05/BoingBoing

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT. Alain Sechas, wow, I've been missing out on this one, this guy has an enormous body of work, and they are great, super great even, check it out right this second.

link/10.07.05/weMAKEART

Absolute has long been known for successfully combining fine art with marketing, namely by letting current popular artists do their own thing, this campaign is no different, other than it's fashion this time...super sweet website even if you don't appreciate the clothes

link/10.07.05/B23

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT. Yosoh, does stuff with ceramic glazes I never thought possible, the detail and precision is startling you must check it out.

link/10.07.05/JoshSpear

These are some really great T-shirts, really great, anyone wanna buy me one, feel free...the one pictured at the left is my fave...

link/10.07.05/JoshSpear

Neat! When I was very young I wished I could be really really tiny, don't know if that's why I liked these photos so much, but...well they're cool enough.

Yeah ok, it's kinda a weird thing to post about here, but hey...HATS OFF to Safeway, the not so mega grocery chain has opted for renewable energy, they'll soon be the biggest retailer ever to make the switch to green energy. Can you imagine if Wal-Mart went this way?

It seems a little crude for Prague, but maybe I don't know enough about Prague, this sculpture would seem to be right out in public. A little disappointed they're not writing in the snow tho...

Many know of my fondness for the word, some may remember the gallery exhibit at the first coffeehouse, this guy has taken it a step further, a book, and DIY stockers to participate yrself...what could be better than that?

8.12.05 thru 9.24.05

So I'm looking around at stuff for the upcoming Bedlamite Coffeebar, and I find this, it was initial implied to be new, but some examples they seem like it's been out there awhile, but well, anyway...it's cool (you knew I was gonna say that huh?)Think DIY neon, that's cheaper to operate.

link/9.24.05/weMAKEART

It's a cool enough product, but being a Bedlamite I'm inclined to wonder how to push it further, where's the wallpaper, sheets, or carpets option...and why's it so damn expensive?

link/9.21.05/Popgadet

Giant Punk Bunny on a hillside, nough said.

link/9.21.05/Core77

Tokyoplastic is a very very very cool vinyl toys, most very limited edition runs. Prints too. great stuff...the webpage is as cool as the toys.

note-click the red dots, at the spiny bush, click the flytraps.

link/9.20.05/NetDiver

Holy heck this is a cool idea, a house that sticks right out of the side of another building, fastened backpack style to it's host, it's called the "Rucksack House" really great idea I think.

link/9.12.05/weMAKEART

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT. Wilifred Wood, a name almost as interesting and unique as the work. Made is sets of ten the uniquness is actually somewhat affordable, and well you'll see, very cool...

I think I've posted a link to an artist that does work like this, but this is to a page that runs themed contests for photoshop retouching, this link is to a puppet gallery, some are really great, some disturbing.

The whole page link is

Ok, it's a girls bike, but it's the coolest girl's bike I've seen ever seen, and hey girls visit this site to ya know...damn that's one cool bike, I'm so jealous..

ARTIST SPOLIGHT. Theban Band, caution those with squeamish unopen minds, tho there is nothing all that racy, and quite a bit that is beautiful and skillfully rendered, some of it even funny.

link/9.08.05/B42

I personally can't believe that it could ever get as bad as it has IN THIS COUNTRY, it's freakin shocking, there is so much help needed, this link just goes to a small area of the help needed, as an animal lover you'd be hard pressed to get me to leave my SumiDog behind.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT. I went crazy on this guy's work back in March. He's showing in Portland on September 1st, on the top floor of Powelle's in the Hallward gallery.

If there was only a bullet train between Seattle and PDX

link/8.30.05/JoshSpear

Yes, it's a trash can, but it's a trash can with a "brilliant steel finish" and a removable composting bin? I don't even know what that is or how to use it, but it's got a "brilliant steel finish" who cares what it does...

ps-there's other cool stuff on this site, but with the exchange rate and shipping it's all pretty pricey.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT , Well I think it's AN artist, might be a group, her or she or they are called KumKum Noodles, that's the name really. The art is cute but in an erie sweet way.

link/8.29.05/NetDiver

This is just cute, had to share it cuz it's cute, just cute.

link/8.29.05/weMAKEART

File this one under really cool places to sleep, these are hotel rooms in Linz, apparently you don't have to pay? it looks like you leave what you want/have. the bathrooms are public, but the spaces are very private, and kinda neat, like sleeping in a giant storm drain, I know I've always wanted to do that, haven't you?

link/8.29.05/weMAKEART

"What is it I like so much about little teany spaces?" I can totally see one of these next to a lake in North Idaho. maybe a cluster of them, don't miss the tree village.

link/8.25.05/JoshSpear

Here is a relatively interesting way to waste some time, a whole page of things filmed in extreme slow motion, eggs being dropped, jello being jiggled, and more.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT, Trish Grantham. I just love her style, living in Portland,OR

note to PDX bedlamites, she is currently showing a mural at 3556 SE Hawthorn

Simple and fun, I think I want it, there's something surreal about it, I don't know what exactly it is that strikes me, there's some hidden meaning here that I can't put my finger on, some metaphor..

Besides a fine collection of street art photos, there are lots of other interesting photos on this page, including a rather perplexing piece on the construction of a DIGITAL pinhole camera.

I don't mind repeating myself when it's to draw even more attention to the stencil graffiti gorilla art god of the universe, all bow before the Bansky. Recently featured in Wired Magazine's August Issue!

link/8.15.05/B23

This is kinda cool, you send them an outline of yr profile and they make a candle stick out of it, well maybe it's not a candle stick, but I guess it could be, it's cool tho regardless of what it is.

link/8.15.05/Core77

And a link that will seem completely contradictory to those that follow, but I've always wanted a computer in my car.

link/8.12.05/UberGizmo

I guess I'm just in a groove today, or the universe is guiding my clicks, or something who knows, but you have to check out this website, further proof that I or someone needs to make the bumper sticker I so desperately want to covertly stick "12 Marines to the gallon"

I dunno why but I've always liked the idea of living in a tent, maybe a past life thing or something. But why live in just any tent, when you can live in a Yert? "They're not just for nomads anymore"

Do not miss the gallery of Yerts section, it's crazy.

I know it's kinda a harsh thing to start a new block of sites off with, but well, life is harsh. The American media is completely ignoring what's going on here, I just wanted to at least draw some bedlamite attention to it, if for no other reason than so more people would know what's going on. It's a shame they don't produce oil, then we'd save them.
link/8.12.05/B23
6.23.05 to 8.10.05

This story is both inspiring and infuriating, great that china is offering not only super high efficiency cars to their billions of citizens and freakishly cheap prices, the upsetting issue is, GM is the designer. SO why the heck do our high mileage cars START at nearly five times the cost?!

These are easily the coolest looking speakers in the world, who knows how they sound and really I hardly care, I can only imagine what they might cost, phew something this pretty is gonna cost a fortune...

link/08.10.05/JoshSpear

The supporting website for what looks to a very cool magazine, filled with those brilliant little ideas you never think of but wish you did for making yr own stuff. Excellent source for recycling info, like turning an old soap bottle into a watering can, or an empty super pack of blank CDs into a lamp.

link/08.10.05/B23

A printer that cuts out what it prints? Yep it's here. Awhile ago I found one that cuts metal, but it cost 10's of thousands of dollars, although I don't really know the price of this one it does look consumer level at least. I don't know about you but I want one!

link/08.03.05/Gizmodo

Ok,this is damned fascinating. At first I thought it might be dumb, but ya know..give anything a chance and it can be interesting, this site is all photographs of rocks, or stones rather. Some are just that, some are carved, one has a cherry tree growing through it. These pictures also represent a wonderful journey around the planet, taking pictures of stones...check it out you'll see it's interesting.

I've been lax lately but this first link will make up for it I think, this artist, is making a statement, that I think is a statement of future fact, forget furby, I want a freakin genpet, even if it is morally reprehensible.

link/07.31.05/weMAKEART

In honor of the 36th anniversary of the first moon landing, GoogleMaps presents the MOON...panable and zoomable, do be sure to zoom in. It's a full moon tonight too...

link/07.20.05/CoolHunting

Some may find this next link disturbing, there is a certain sense of beauty to these works that's as undeniable as it is beautiful...

link/07.20.05/weMAKEART

Mail order popcorn? An all natural snack, and sugar free kettle corn...well heck yeah, how bout cinnamon, cocoa, or mesquite bbq flavored popcorn? My order hasn't arrived yet, but I'll tell you if it's as good as it sounds.

link/07.14.05/CoolHunting

I know very little about this project, what I do know is the names behind it; Chris Cunningham, and Aphex Twin, the latter being much loved by this and other bedlamites. This site is just a tease of what is to come, but it looks great, and a little disturbing..

I want one , I want to know more about them too, here's a painfully limited description of what I think would be really cool to have, and the strips would make great wall cover I think, the link inside the article takes you to the artists page, but there's nothing there about it...sadness

link/07.01.05/weMAKEART

What a new Vans? yup I couldn't believe it either, I haven't in the past been a big Vans wearer, but I really like this shoe, I like this shoe allot. Called the Syndicate, I even like the name...check em out.

link/07.01.05/CoolHunting

I thinks it's odd that in the world of smaller is better that a phone this big would be billed as a "luxury" phone...and a 1200$ one at that, other than that there really is no other reason to post about this.

ok, the idea of a wood encased phone is cool, but a big square one?

link/07.01.05/CoolHunting

I tried about a month ago to get to this site, but after it was mentioned on ATOS it was overwhelmed and I believe crashed, it's up now and every bit as cool as it sounded, navigate the web without clicking, kinda a cool idea I think, one that would have to be executed very well to work, but cool none the less.

note-the site can "hang" just hit reload a couple times till it finishes

link/06.24.05/B23

I don't know how themes form in my blogs but they do, one mini theme forming seems to be the new firplaces, I found one earlier (see below) and couldn't believe it when I found another, who would of thought that the firplace could ever evolve into a table, a clear box, or a pile of rocks. I wonder what the next fireplace will look like?

link/06.24.05/MoCoLoco

The Art of Science, a long time favorite subject, now an annual competition and show put together by the rather unlikely art purveyors; Princeton U...you gotta check these pieces out tho, wow...

The piece at left is titled 42, and is dynamical patterns formed during the spreading of a surface-active substance

The revolution will be televised, and it'll be in 3D. Holographic TVs in our homes by 2020, course no one will be able to afford them till 2030 when Emerson starts makin' them, but a boy can dream can't he?

You like to iron don't you? no...would you if you were ironing on a naked body? sounds kinky huh...like dripping wax? hmmmm, anyway...yeah, these ironing board covers have bits covered by heat sensitive ink, the ink disappears when you heat reveling...well you know what it revels, Available in boys and girls...

link/06.23.05/OhGizmo

I love this, I just love it, forget candles for dinner damn it, I want flames...It's billed as a table top fireplace, but I think it needs a few more flames for that, but damn I would say burn some cash on this...

note the website is loaded with tons of other spendy don't needs...

link/06.23.05/LanceArthur

So in a year or so I'm going to Berlin on vacation, I expected to stay in a hotel like any normal person, but then I found this site, rather than a hotel you can stay in a furnished apartment, in most cases someone eles' furnished apartment. The link takes you to the Berlin listings, this link takes you to a global list of places.

link/06.23.05/JoshSpear

Ok, everyone knows I like lamps, I love lamps...this is a really unique and original design for a floor lamp. Nothing new about the floor lamp, and nothing really special about the shade on this one, but there's more to it than that, go to the page and you'll see what I mean.

link/06.23.05/Core77
05.16.05 to 06.17.05

Yeah, yeah bedlamite.com is gonna jump on the ol' promote the latest block buster wagon, but hey it's Batman, my answer to the ago old question; "What super hero would you be?" The link actually leads to a rather serious look at a fictional subject, the HowStuffWorks look at the batsuit itself, the core of Batman's super-ness.

link/06.17.05/Core77

One thing you won't ever see me do is pass up a Robot link, these robots are all hand made, and in my opion quite beautiful...there one of kinds, and the prices reflect that, but wow they're great

link/06.15.05/CoolHunting

Ok, this is cool, I can't imagine any real need for it, but it's cool. You plug them in and choose what to monitor, the weather, the stock market or traffic, then they glow different colors so you know what's up at a glance.

link/06.14.05/B23

These are very scifi, but not. I may have found a replacement for my much loved Armani sunglasses, these have a whole new hinge design, and well everything cool is German again.

Don't miss the instruction video under prototype

link/06.08.05/CoolHunting

Oh, oh I can soooo see bedlamites driving around with their numbers on their cars, at only 3.50 ea, I personally can't wait to put a B23 on the back of the Prelude

link/06.05.05/Gadgetopia

Cool cool cool, I'm an absolute freak for this kinda stuff, tiny gems of creativity...there's a wall here in Seattle, Post Alley; that this guy would love...

link/06.04.05/PlasticBag

I came in contact with this guy via a project for public spaces meeting to remake a downtown park in Seattle, he's billed as a landscape designer, but really he should be called a landscape sculper, his work is spectacular, rethink what you think about public spaces.

note-His teardrop park is in the news in NY

OK, ok..backlash can be a beautiful thing, here's proof. Yes by the way I would walk down the street talking on one of these...

link/06.03.05/CoolHunting

I've seen another product like this recently, but it was really really expensive, rare earth magnets or something like that, although I don't know how much these cost, it does suggest a trend which will inevitably bring down prices, and there cool...

link/06.03.05/Popgadet

Ok, this little product represents to me the ultimate in the "the simplest things are best" category.. I don't know about you, but I'm ordering at least ten...

You could also file this in the "why didn't I think of that" category too

link/05.28.05/JoshRubin
Woot woot, I saw this in "I Robot" and wanted it, now I've found it!!! It's called the Egnima fan and I can't find a price for it, but oh how I want it.
link/05.25.05/Gizmodo
These are great, I wish there was more of them. They are a little creepy, but the skill involved in pullling this "look" off is first rate.
Laugh out loud funny! There has to be more than one person there...
Some may have heard that the french govt. banned the use of the last supper ad, this site pulls together a collection of other takes on the last supper, kinda cool...
Artist Spotlight. Obi Kaufmann, I honestly thought all bedlamites knew this page was up, but I guess not. It's a relatively good sized selection of one of Bedlam's all time favorite artists. Contact Obi via email for info on purchases.
link/05.23.05/B23
Hey New York Bedlamites, The Wooster Collective is having a Street Art walking tour in yr fair city this weekend, you should so go. Wooster bbeing the end all and be all of street art means I seriously doubt it will be anything short of fantastic. Take pictures, ok?
I just love this Bansky guy, I may have mentioned him earlier on, when he snuck pieces into a couple museums in New York. He apparently does this all the time, now he's snuck a piece of Rock into a museum in London. Check out his web page, he's got some great art, and a wonderful sense of irony.
link/05.20.05/JoshSpear
I know this is meant for when you need a larger table, but I soooo like the look of it expanded, that I wouldn't want to close it till I needed a smaller table.
link/05.19.05/JoshRubin
Ok, this is fun! I will forever look under the paintings in my hotel rooms. you should too. If done discreetly enough it would be really hard to get busted..
link/05.18.05/JoshRubin
A furniture link? yup, not just any furniture tho...really nice Asian furniture, I've been shopping for a step tansu for a long time, this furniture is all built from reclaimed wood and beautiful.
link/05.16.05/B23
04.25.05 to 05.10.05

This is the second page I've found by this guy, it's filled with example after example of strange and wonderful flash stuff, some really funny, some really scary, some downright disgusting...but you'll like it...

click/mouseover everything, often...

link/05.10.05/B23

I don't know what is going on here, but it's fun...

click the spiral...

link/05.10.05/B23

Artist Spotlite. Aaron Jasinski, I don't really know what it is about his paintings, but then I don't know what it is about most artists work that I like, I just like it, maybe you will too. He also has a great flash use website and tons of music.

link/05.10.05/B23

Woot woot! Gotta cell phone, digital camera, or even a laptop? Anything that rips through battery power? well go read this article at Treehugger about the roll out of Toshiba's fuel cell (remember a few weeks back I said this was a good place to put some stock dollars?) I can't wait for a cellphone that doesn't need to be recharged, or a laptop you don't have to plug in, EVER...ok, maybe I'm too excited and overstating the whole thing but damn...

link/05.08.05/Treehugger

I've seen good Origami but wholly cow, this is freaking, well its "langorigami"

link/05.07.05/B23

Now I'm not one to think graffiti is all that bad, true it is property damage, and that is a problem, tho usually the property being damaged is some ugly back alley or underpass, so...anyway, this is something different, and very very cool.

link/05.07.05/B23

Artist Spotlight. Matt Stuart. You'll see why when you you examine his photography, but wow, this guy must just walk around with his camera in front of his face, most of the shots could only be described as lucky shots, right place with a camera kinda shots. examine the pics and you'll see what I'm talking about.

link/05.03.05/B23

Stylish and harmful, very interesting combination wouldn't you say? I think this is a fairly good idea.

link/05.02.05/B23

Firefox has sailed past the 50Million downloads mark...Internet Explorer has got to me crappin in their cargo pants today...

link/05.02.05/B23

This just screams of a bedlamite project, one picture at every single mile marker, all the way across the country...phew

link/05.02.05/B23

I know there's at least one bedlamite that's into vintage tin robots, here's an illustrator that specializes in tin robots, and they're damn good too.

link/05.01.05/B23

Artist Spotlight. Margot Quan, some are starteling, some are scary, all are beautiful.

link/05.01.05/B23

Ok, at first I thought this page was gonna be a little cheesy, but after a few minutes here I learned some stuff, and i've been listening to electronic for like, forever...so that's saying something, it's packed to the rafters with samples of stuff, ELECTRONIC MUSIC ISN'T DEAD.

I must add that although some of the reviewers comments are very opinioned he is dead on with most of his descriptions.

link/05.01.05/B23

Here is a japanese site that has ten pages of pictures, each picture takes you to a page of more pictures, all of abandon building in Japan. It's quite cool, quite interesting, makes me want to go there and collect stuff.

link/05.01.05/BoingBoing

Doh! the Lomo LC-A is going going gone. I heard about these little cameras awhile ago, but never quite got around to getting one. Damn it. Well if yr interrested you can still get them on ebay for under a hundred bucks, but that price likely won't last long..lucky I'm workin again.

Lomographic Society

Holy Heck Batman! A four Gigabyte mp3 player, 2.0 megapixel camera, FM receiver, and a voice recorder IN A CELLPHONE?! Yup.. a cellphone, it won't be out till the end if the year, and you know it's gonna be like 600$ but hey, it's damn cool.

link/04.29.05/MobileBurn

Performance art or indentured servitude? you decide, this artist Chris Barr, will do almost anything you ask, and then document the result and post it to the webpage, a very cool idea, one of those I wish I'd thought of that kinda ideas...

link/04.27.05/B23

Hey look a whole site of gadgets and kitchen essentials for the left handed bedlamites.

Broadband TV! Here's a channle that's been running for I don't know how long, it's kinda Mtv ish, but way more... I can't bring myself to use the "E" word but you'll get the idea pretty quick about the 10th time you hear the F word....hehehe

link/04.26.05/BoingBoing

When I grow up I am gonna be such a geek, and I'll blame it on the internet. How can I resist plans to build my own robot head that blinks and spins and looks around all by itself? How can I resist?

link/04.26.05/BoingBoing

Creepy, ant's building their own highly sophisticated traps? eww, I got shills, are ants getting smarter or did it just take this long to find "these" ants...

What's this? ANOTHER independent film website? you betcha, who can get enough really, I think this is the third or fourth I've been too, maybe not as good as the first one, but I think it's newer. If you register you can comment on the films tho.

link/04.26.05/B23

My love of fonts and typography is, if you've visited these pages much, very well known. This site let's you create yr very own bitfont, that you can download and use. It's pretty cool, even if the whole bitfont thing is a "bit" played out...har har

link/04.26.05/B23

I don't really know anything about this site other than it's a company that produces films and video, really great ones, disturbing ones, beautiful ones. Do not miss the Beauty Kit one...

after I typed the above, I found this "Pleix is a virtual community of digital artists based in Paris. Some of us are 3D artists, some others are musicians or graphic designers. This website is the perfect place to share our latest creations."

link/04.25.05/B23

Artist Spotlight, Carl de Keyzer, I dunno sometimes I see a photographers work and I'm just stunned, this is one of those times, I long to capture time, feeling, life the way this photographer captures it. Each photos is so complete, he's a master.

I feel like I'm fast becoming the king of ways to waste time meaninglessly on the web, this next site is easily one of the bigger waste of time you'll find. But it can be oh so satisfying to just waste some time...

link/04.23.05/B23

link/04.22.05/B23

I've alwasy thought ascii art was cool, I could never really master it however, but this artist has way more than mastered it, he freakin' owns it...

link/04.22.05/B23

The page really doesn't say anything, not anything you can read anyway, Japanese I think...anyway, my made up story is someone was in England with a really nice digital camera, and suddenly discovered they could fly, so the flew around the globe snapping pictures as they went...

link/04.22.05/B23

Wow, The high art of sidewalk chalk. This guy is perhaps the most amazing I've seen so far...

Yes it's just a ball, but it glows, and look at it, now tell me it's not the coolest ball you have ever seen in yr entire life...ha!

link/04.21.05/NotCot

This is just beautiful, there's a message in it somewhere about saving the world's forests. It's a good message, but well...well, the site is beautiful.

why so vague? sorry, I just think it's human destiny to consume this planet, there likely is no hope to "save" it. I'd like to avoid any crappy email about the subject tho.

Artist Spotlight. Chris Jordan, the downside of modern technological life.

Go Bears. These are painfully short, I'd watch a happy little talk show with these guys, certainly better than most morning shows.

link/04.20.05/Drawn

Artist Spotlight. Eclectech. Don't know the actual artist name at this point but he's webmaster of the site, and these faces are great, some really cute, and some kinda creepy...

link/04.19.05/B23

As I told the Bedlamite that directed me to this, I think I'd have a hard time painting these, I kinda like the art of all those lines and numbers. Maybe I'll just paint part of it, like so many I've seen at garage sales...

link/04.19.05/B9

OMG! I must have this! Enough said...

link/04.18.05/JoshRubin

Last week I mentioned my list of things to build, well I've got the overhead projector, and the lcd will arrive via UPS in a couple days, I can't wait!

link/04.18.05/B23

It's pretty hard to stand out in the crowd when it comes to Star Wars merchandise, but as you'll see this little gem does quite a nice job of it.

When I found it they were sellin' for 8.99, but now they seem to be all gone :(

I'm convinced there is a high end version of just about everything. Air fresheners are no exception, forget the glade plug in, this stuff is pure art. An air freshener you'd actually want to have visible.

link/041705Sunday/NotCot

Can you imagine an American downtown without cars? Me neither, but it's a movement that many European cities have and are adopting. Here's a site all about it, perhaps if we all forward the link to our political leaders... it's worth a shot.

link/041605Saturday/SarahLane

I've mentioned Podcasting before. I'm mentioning it again simply because when I first discovered it I thought it was new and would be better later when more people got involved, apparently I'd not done enough digging. There are hundreds of podcasts available, for virtually every subject you could imagine.Podcasting is particularly well suited for ppl with dial-up, as you can set yr machine to download while you sleep. NorthwestPublicRadio even has a podcast!

link/041605Saturday/B23

I just love lighting, love shadows, love lamps. I've admired a few of the new Paper Trend shades of late, this designer has some really great designs, they ship flat and you assemble them yrself. I would love to see the patters the display on the ceiling, but there a bit pricey, now if he could sell patterns, and suggest paper types, that would be cool, otherwise i'll just have to think up my own designs.

link/041605Saturday/JoshRubin

Sorry about missing yesterday, had to rebuild the partners machine after what may have been a viral attack, still kinda distracted by it.

Graffiti artists making there own ink? yup, and it's supposed to be unfadable...I wonder if this is response to wacky ass laws in some cities about not selling spray paint to anyone under 18?

link/041605Saturday/JoshRubin

File this one under "Science is great, but sometimes ugly." The human sleep cycle is a relatively complex thing you know. This thing claims that it will wake you when it's "right" to wake you, while yr in a lighter stage of sleep, so you don't wake up feeling all groggy and thickheaded, it's real science behind it. But are you gonna tell yr boss yr late because the alarm didn't want to wake you.

link/041405Thursday/OhGizmo

Like posters? Like vintage posters? These aren't knock offs tho, these are the real thing, so real they don't even post the prices, you have to ask and they email it to you. I'm waiting for info on a Warhol, but I'm certainly not holding my breath to buy it.

update-all three are 500$

link/041405Thursday/B23

This is a pretty cool use of flash. It's erie in a sorta SciFi way with a taste of street art. Mostly interactive and very beautiful to look at. Moody and rather dark at times, but none the less worth a glance at least. Don't be in a rush to get thru the rooms, take yr time.

link/041405Thursday/B23

I'm really on this kick where although I've yet to do it, I have a growing list of things I want to build, with a life long passion for interesting clocks this is now third in line on my I wanna build one of those list.

link/041405Thursday/B23

I have browsed allot of computer generated art sites in my day, but this site stands out as easily the finest collection of the finest 3dCg I have ever seen in my life, from artists all over the world, go see for yrself, the skill and creativity displayed here is actually astounding.

link/041305Wednesday/B23

I don't know if I mentioned it on this page or not, but I recently discovered a show called "the broken" you can find it if I didn't mention it. Well I found another one, this one however is way more advanced, and you'll need a P2P client to get the episodes, but it looks from the episodes I've seen so far to be an ongoing story about a group of file sharers ripping films.

link/041305Wednesday/B23

Has yr lunch settled yet? This page might make you a little sea sick. The whole page is of different optical illusions, alusions of movement where there really isn't any. Quite cool, I was really into these when I was a kid but only recognized the snake one.

link/041305Wednesday/B23

I quite literally Stumbled onto this site, using the Stumble extension for FireFox (Found )This site of support for one of my favorite movies of all time, it's not only beautiful to look at, but beautiful to think about. If you haven't seen it, get on down to the video store and rent it, or better yet, trust me and buy by it, you won't be disappointed.

link/041305Wednesday/B23

I told you this was gonna happen, Mp3 players have shrunk down to no more than the headphones, this player houses the player components in the head phone assembly, and there's a fm tuner in there too... They could use more storage, but for an entirely self contained unit these are pretty hot.

link/041305Wednesday/MobileMag

File this under roadside attractions, sorta... Googie is apparently the name of a particular kind of architecture, seen most recently in The Incredibles. I've always really liked it allot, now I have a name for it, and this article at Gadgetopia has all kinds of links to web pages about it.

link/041205Tuesday/Gadgetopia

Artist Spotlite, Tokihiro Sato. At first glance these images seem really simple, photoshop simple, but when you read the "how it was done" you'll see they're being done with a far far more labor intensive method. There kinda erie, otherworldly even, like some alien army of light.

ps-the light theme for today's posts is completly by accident.

link/041205Tuesday/B23

You'd think I was trying to find things to waste yr time away with on the internet. Well here's another one, get yr clickin finger ready...This version of Lite-Brite is as mind numbingly addictive as the original, but you don't have to replace the paper.

link/041205Tuesday/B23

File this one under DAMN I WANNA BUILD ONE OF THOSE, some brats over at MIT have made a disco dance floor, I wouldn't use it as a dance floor per say, but oh how I want to hang this on my wall, right after I finish my digital overhead projection computer screen.

link/041205Tuesday/Engadget

I think this is kind of exciting, Biodegradable electronics, Sony has made a DVD player that is 50% vegetable material. There's also a phone by Motorola that has an embedded sunflower seed in it's biodegradable case that you can plant.

link/041205Tuesday/HippyShopper

Ok, this one is laugh out loud funny. Funny Funny Funny, in a very adolescent way...

link/041105Monday/B23

For those of you unlucky enough to have not had this film come to yr town, What the Bleep do we know is out on DVD, has been for a couple weeks, a bedlamite mentioned that she'd seen it recently and I rushed out and bought it immediately. A must have for anyone with a brain, or a heart...

link/041105Monday/B23

Want to send yrself an email up to 18 years in the future? The site lets you send yrself an email and choose a date to receive it. Kinda neat, depends on allot of factors like will you still have that email address and will the site still be operating. You can also read other peoples messages to themselves.

No, that's not my entry to the left.

link/041105Monday/B23

This website is chocked full of dance music goodness, find out what was released today listen to it and if you like it buy it. There is also an enormous collection of mixes, long mixes, and hour plus.

link/041105Monday/B23

Here's a fun little waste of time, an entire webpage devoted to absurd inventions, real inventions that were approved for real patents. I don't know what's crazier; the inventors or the patent office.

link/041105Monday/B23

Not sure how far from being a real product this is, but dang, if they can get some better designs I would so be into this, even no pattern would be cool, a nice warm glow coming from an entire wall...

link/041105Monday/weMAKEART

They just keep getting smaller and smaller, soon we'll be injecting them into our brains. I do appreciate the simplistic design of this little cube tho.

And Sorta related, Mark Cuban has some excellent ideas on a business venture regarding the huge Mp3 trend.

Another underground/indi film site. I never knew there was this much indi film out there and in two days I've found two huge repositories for it.

link/041005Sunday/B23

You know when yr sweaters get those little balls all over them? Well now rather than send them to the dry cleaners, or try and shave them with a razor you can use this handy product to remove them. AND you can try this handy product for the price of shipping, there giving them away, and since they last 10 years or more 4.99 is well worth it. My is on it's way!

Works on almost all fabrics!

link/041005Sunday/Treehugger

I'm not even gonna go into why Battlestar Galatica is so great, I'll let you read the short article over at WorldChanging after the jump. It's not just the best new SciFi show on TV, it's breaking new ground in it's use of the internet, if you haven't seen it, You must. The best reason to get a satellite dish or cable out there...trust me this is not yr average show.ps-SciFi channel is re-running the 2 part miniseris/pilot on 4/28 at 7pm

link/041005Sunday/WorldChanging

Polyphonic Spree fan? Of course you are, this fun little website built in flash lets you travel from screen to screen clicking to figure out what to do while listen to some Spree Tunes. Neato

link/040905Saturday/B23

Looking for the next Spielberg or Lucas? Well student films can be a good place to find them, some of these are very very good, shockingly good, I was gonna post about a couple, but figured it be more fun to just point you at the site and let you find the good stuff yrself. Broadband required, but they do have a modem version, and it's not ONLY for students, anyone can host films here.

link/040905Saturday/B23

File this under silly giggle. I wish there was more to this site, but it's silly enough to mention.

link/040905Saturday/B23

You like kaleidoscopes don't ya? well here's a fun little flash kaleidoscope to play with. That's all it's just fun, it's good for you.

link/040905Saturday/B23

I think right now it should be set into law that every cell phone company, and any other company that puts up antennas should have to do it this way. What way you ask? That tall tree to the left is a cell phone antenna tower, with different carriers on it, that's like 24 little antenna hidden inside a fake tree. Brilliant.

they also do palm trees and cactus

link/040805Friday/GadgeTopia

So I've recently found a website devoted to nothing but t-shirts, there is as strong a movement towards the art of t-shirts as there is vinyl toys, this site has both. The T-shirts and printing are really the focus, but you must seek out the toy section too.

link/040805Friday/PreShrunk

FUUUNY! with a capitol F. people shaking their heads back and forth in front of a camera. What else could I possibly say, just go look, you need the laugh you know you do...

LOL,they look like they were in a blender accident.

link/040805Friday/AttackOfTheShow

I almost don't want to post this cuz I want to send one to somebody, but oh well. Think MailArt package that's useful after the contents have been removed, useful as a lamp...

link/040705Thursday/Gizmodo

The third place winner of a design competition has designed a wall that you can sit in, look thru and lean against. it looks quite fun. I don't think it would serve as very good insulation, and I might be nervous leaning against it 20 or 30 floors up, but taking a nap IN a wall might be fun anyway.

link/040705Thursday/weMAKEART

More Art Toy goodness from Portland, OR. Everything is so cool in PDX.

link/040505Wednesday/NotCot

Wanna waste some time? Google has added satelite images to the google maps search engine, kinda fun...

link/040505Wednesday/LifeHacker

Yes, I'm blogging about a battery, but trust me it's no ordinary battery, describing it requires the use of words like Nanotechnology. It'll recharge in just over a minute and last way longer than any other battery EVER. The first targeted use for this technology is the automobile industry, promising electric cars could really become the norm soon. A side note Toshiba is also hard at work on a fuel cell for laptops AND cars. And all this hot on the heels of there teany hard drive. Phew, looking for a place to put some stock dollars?

link/040505Wednesday/WorldChanging

Dubai is already known as home to some pretty intense architecture, well they're gonna be hard to beat for awhile thanks to this new tower, BurjDubai (Tower Dubai) is slated to be the new Tallest building in the world. Though actual height has yet to be released, an elevator mock up has buttons going up to an ear popping 189 floors, 189 floors! right now the tallest is 101, so the BurjDubai is likely gonna be the tallest for awhile.

...and if you go to the EMAAR link at the bottom right, you can watch a ton of expensivly produced videos about it, and other projects

link/040505Tuesday/Gizmodo
It was only a matter of time, I think Podcasting is up there with some of the next great media things, I subscribed to the Battlestar Galatica podcast which essential was director commentary you could listen to while watching, and I subscribe to the Wooster Collective podcast, this however is touted as being the first ever Podcast novel, subscribe for free and get each chapter as they are produced. cool cool cool. It's the return of the old time radio serials.
link/040505Tuesday/B23
Ok, the art IS good, but you'll see I had no choice at all but to post this. A Seattlite to boot.
link/040505Tuesday/B23
I have an entire folder of sites like this, the Art Toy thing is exploding. So expect to see more of these.
link/040405Monday/B23
My love of PreFab is not secret, these guys have actually been doing all the way thru the time it was groundbreaking, thru the time it was completely uncool, till now, when it is perhaps finally coming into it's own.
link/040405Monday/B23
Some of us have desks to put these things on, but ya know I don't think I need to justify them as stress relievers for my over amped executive lifestyle, there damn neato and that's enough for me.

Every want a treehouse? The entrepreneur in me immediately saw a forest filled with these, rented out to every grown up that wants to spend the weekend in his/her treehouse dream. Is that bad?
link/040205Sunday/Gizmag

I dunno if anyone else will think this is cool, but damn! I sure do...stronger than titanium, as easy to manipulate as plastic, this friends is the stuff space ships are made from. It's been in use in products since January and is cool cool cool...

link/040205Sunday/FutureFeeder

Use the Sun to brush yr teeth instead of toothpaste, well with the wonders of modern science it's now more or less possible.

link/040105Saturday/HippyShopper

This is just cool, they just won Best of Show at SXSW, and I think every city should have something like it sure beats CitySearch. Now I want to visit Montreal.

link/033005Wednesday/SXSW

Some may think this is disturbing, but it's pretty cool, and goes well with the recycled toys link from last week, tho this guys recreations are of a slightly darker nature.

The link actually takes you to a collective of Austrailan artists, a couple of which are pretty great also.

link/033005Wednesday/AttackOfTheShow

Everything old is German again, there were only about four things cool about the 70's, one of which was 1% of the clothes, These guys have managed to capture that 1% in both nue/new and vintage/70's pieces, a couple I might even have to buy. Groovy.

link/032905Tuesday/D-Sign

Hold a world in the palm of yr hand, sounds cool doesn't it? Two of the originals from the Bio Sphere project are still trying to educate the public as to the nature of ecosystems, this time with something very much like art. Treehugger states that there affordable, but I couldn't find a price anywhere on the site.

link/032905Tuesday/Treehugger

I don't know exactly why, but at 12:37 am this made me laugh outloud, perhaps you to will laugh.

there's this one too

link/032905Tuesday/EverlastingBlort
Now I don't think the FAA will be approving this too soon, it's a beautiful creation, and I would really love to ride one, but wow can you image what just one little sparrow would do to that huge intake fan, heck a tree branch would be just as dangerous, nice idea
